Thanks, Susan, for these enlightening podcasts! Growing up on the shores of Puget Sound, I've long been "intimate" with the Nettle, but it's only since becoming involved with our Shakespeare Garden here in Boulder, CO that I've come to treasure it. Will mentions it 13 times in his Plays, usually as a metaphor for something unsavory. Thanks for teaching me about the phrase "grasping the nettle" refering to facing facing fears & obstacles, etc forcefully. You might be interested to know that I met a WWII Veteran in England who was with the SAS, and he recounted that they virtually lived on nettle soup behind enemy lines.
